Rules Rules Rules!!

So what are the rules to The Big Skibidi Screen Switch Off??

Wednesdays 5pm to 8pm, and that’s pretty much it.

It’s totally up to you and your tribe what you do and how you do it. You might decide to start small and do half an hour. Or you might dive straight in, lock all the phones away, unplug the TVs and go do something wholesome like a walk in the woods, beach trip or family game. It’s totally up to you. You might decide to keep an adult’s phone on, for emergencies or taking photos (because that’s important!), but no social media or scrolling through reels!!

What I might try and do is link to some downloadable/ printable resources. Like word searches, colouring, ideas and instructions for games… that kind of thing, if you’re really stuck for things to do.

What I don’t want this to turn in to is the kids expecting us adults to provide them with stuff to do when they haven’t got their phones. It can be that of course, if you want to, or if they’re little. But boredom sometimes generates the most creative and fun moments, so try not to be too quick or feel pressure to sort out an amazing action packed evening. Although it is wonderful if you can use this time to spend time together, if that doesn’t cause too many arguments! I do know one family who’s idea of the perfect evening would be to all disappear with a book each…

Do you have any suggestions of what you might do? Any good ideas that I can share? Why don’t you fill in my quick survey…
